Description

ZebraLight H600c Mk IV – a headlamp with a wide beam and neutral 4000K light

It is no coincidence that ZebraLight ranks amongst the world’s best headlamps. With no unnecessary frills, yet every detail is meticulously crafted. Reliable to the point of fanaticism – that is the philosophy behind every model.

If you’re looking for a headlamp that truly meets your needs for power, efficiency, control and reliability – the ZebraLight H600c Mk IV is one of the few that delivers without compromise. This isn’t a gadget designed for show. It’s a tool made for people who understand what real performance means.

Why ZebraLight is among the best in the world

  • Extreme efficiency – maximum energy output from the battery with virtually zero losses, thanks to some of the best buck-boost drivers on the market
  • High colour rendering (CRI 90+) – critical when working on electrical installations to distinguish the true colours of cables
  • Constant-current driver – stable light output without dips or flickering
  • Compact design – real power in a pocket-sized format
  • Precise control – simple to use, yet offering extensive customisation options
  • Unibody design – the body is machined from a single piece of aluminium
  • Type III Hard Anodising – approximately 2 to 3 times more wear-resistant than a standard torch when rubbed against coins or tools in a pocket
  • Potting compound – the electronics are sealed with thermally conductive silicone for impact resistance, improved cooling and water resistance

Who is the ZebraLight H600c Mk IV suitable for?

  • Professional use – security, inspections, technical work
  • Hiking and camping – an excellent balance between power and battery life
  • Hunting and fishing – good beam pattern and neutral light with more realistic colours
  • EDC (everyday carry) – a compact yet robust tool
  • Emergencies – reliability and long battery life on low settings
  • Search and navigation – stable brightness

ZebraLight series – a brief overview

Frequently asked questions

What is the maximum output of the ZebraLight H600c Mk IV and how long does the battery last?

The maximum light output is 1616 lm in H1 mode with a runtime of 2.5 hours. In H2 mode, there are three options: 1,010 lm (2.9 hours), 579 lm (3.1 hours) and 305 lm (5.3 hours). At medium levels, M1 provides 147 lm for 12.5 hours, whilst M2 offers 65 lm (27.5 hours), 26.4 lm (2.7 days) and 9.9 lm (7.1 days). The lowest settings, L1 and L2, can run for up to 5.4 months at 0.08 lm. The battery is 1 x 18650 Li-ion, flat-top, unprotected and is not included in the pack.

Why is a CRI of 90+ important when choosing a headlamp?

The Colour Rendering Index (CRI) indicates how accurately the light reproduces the true colours of objects. With a CRI of 90+, colours appear almost identical to those in daylight. This is particularly crucial when working on electrical installations, where you need to clearly distinguish the colours of the cables. The H600c Mk IV’s neutral 4000K light is easy on the eyes and suitable for prolonged use. When hunting or fishing, it provides a more realistic view of the terrain and the colour of the lures.

How do you set the brightness levels on the ZebraLight H600c Mk IV?

The torch has 3 main levels – High, Medium and Low, each with two sub-levels (H1/H2, M1/M2, L1/L2). To switch between sub-level 1 and sub-level 2, use a double-click – the setting is saved even when the battery is changed. To programme the second sub-level, press the button twice in quick succession six times at the selected level; thereafter, each subsequent double-click cycles through a different brightness level. A single click exits the mode and saves the selected setting. In groups G6 and G7, all 6 sub-levels can be programmed to any of the 12 available brightness levels.

What is PID thermal control and why is it useful?

PID thermal control monitors the temperature of the housing and automatically reduces the brightness in the event of overheating to protect the LED and the electronics. It is active for the three highest operating levels. The user can adjust the temperature threshold themselves – from off to H1 – by holding down the button and cycling through 6 Low-High cycles. On the 7th cycle: releasing the button whilst on High increases the threshold by 1°C (up to a maximum of +5°C); on Medium, it resets to the factory setting; and on Low, it decreases the threshold by 1°C (down to a maximum of -5°C). This provides precise control over thermal management.

What is the water resistance of the ZebraLight H600c Mk IV and how is it achieved?

The torch is IPX8-certified, meaning it can be submerged to a depth of 2 metres for 30 minutes without damage. Its water resistance is the result of a combination of factors: the control electronics are hermetically sealed and encapsulated in thermally conductive silicone (potting compound); the body is constructed as a single piece of aluminium (unibody design) and is protected by a hard Type III Class I anodised coating. The tempered optical glass further seals the construction. This protection makes it reliable for fishing, working in the rain and in damp environments.

What is included in the pack and what type of battery is required?

The kit includes: the headlamp itself, 2 O-rings, a pocket clip, a headband with an adjustable top strap and a black silicone holder, and a user manual. The battery is not included – 1 x 18650 Li-ion, flat-top, unprotected battery is required. The weight of the headlamp alone is 39 g; with a ZL635 battery, it is 84.6 g; and with the battery and headband, it is 124.6 g. The headband allows the H600c Mk IV to be used as a fully-fledged headlamp with an adjustable top strap.

How does the battery indicator work and what safeguards are in place for low battery levels?

From the off state, 4 quick clicks activate the battery indicator. The LED flashes between 1 and 4 times depending on the remaining charge – more flashes indicate a higher charge. When the voltage reaches a critically low level (2.7 V), the torch activates a safety feature. It automatically reduces the brightness from High to Medium and from Medium to Low when the charge is low, to extend the operating time. The built-in protection circuits constantly monitor temperature, current and voltage. Standby power consumption is negligible – significantly lower than the battery’s self-discharge rate.
