About ATS34 Steel

ATS34 is a high-quality Japanese stainless steel with a composition identical to that of the American 154CM. Compared to conventional steels such as 440C, it offers higher corrosion resistance, better wear resistance, and greater hardness. It is suitable for knives used intensively and regularly.

About TPE

TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) combines the elasticity of rubber with the ease of processing of plastics. The material is non-toxic, resistant to weathering, temperature, and fatigue, has a soft feel, and offers excellent color retention. It does not require vulcanization and is recyclable.

Manufacturing in Solingen

The knife is manufactured entirely in Solingen—much of the work is carried out by established local partners. The manufacturing process and the hardening formula remain unchanged to ensure the same high level of functionality and reliability.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of steel is the blade of the Linder Super Edge 6 made of?

The blade is made of Japanese ATS34 stainless steel. It is heat-treated under vacuum and undergoes additional cryogenic treatment. Its hardness reaches 60–61 HRC on the Rockwell scale, ensuring long-lasting sharpness and high wear resistance. ATS34 has the same chemical composition as American 154CM steel and outperforms conventional steels such as 440C in terms of corrosion resistance and hardness.

What is TPE, and why is it used for the handle?

TPE stands for thermoplastic elastomer. It is a material that combines the elasticity of rubber with the ease of processing of plastics. The TPE handle is non-toxic and resistant to weathering, temperature, and fatigue. It provides a soft and secure grip, and the material can be recycled without the need for vulcanization.

How long is the blade of the Linder Super Edge 6?

The blade is 119 mm long and 4.8 mm thick. The total length of the knife is 235 mm. It weighs 148 grams, making it comfortable to carry and use.

Does the knife come with a sheath?

Yes, the knife comes with a genuine leather sheath. The sheath weighs 83 grams. It ensures safe storage and transport of the knife.

Where is the Linder Super Edge 6 manufactured?

The knife is manufactured entirely in Solingen, Germany. A large part of the manufacturing process is carried out by established local partners. The hardening formula and the manufacturing process remain unchanged to preserve the model’s traditionally high quality.

What's new in the latest version of Super Edge 6?

In the current version, the back of the blade is sharper and optimized for ignition and use of the cutting edge. The labeling has been made more discreet and limited to the bare essentials. All other specifications—steel, hardening, and manufacturing—remain unchanged.

How does ATS34 compare to other stainless steels?

Compared to conventional stainless steels such as 440C, ATS34 offers higher corrosion resistance, greater wear resistance, and higher hardness. These qualities make it suitable for knives that are used regularly and intensively. The steel is easy to resharpen, even after prolonged use.
