Description

Linder Super Edge 2 Fixed-Blade Knife – ATS34 Steel, Orange Handle

The Linder Super Edge 2 is a fixed-blade knife manufactured entirely in Solingen, Germany. The blade is made of Japanese ATS34 steel, heat-treated under vacuum and cryogenically treated for maximum durability.

The hardness reaches 60–61 HRC on the Rockwell scale—the blade stays sharp for a long time and is easy to resharpen. The back of the blade is tapered and optimized for use with a fire starter and for starting a fire.

Why ATS34 Is an Excellent Steel for Knives

ATS34 is a high-quality Japanese stainless steel with a composition identical to that of the American 154CM. Compared to conventional steels such as 440C, it offers:

  • Greater corrosion resistance
  • Greater wear resistance
  • Higher hardness

It is suitable for knives that are used intensively and regularly.

TPE Handle – Comfort and Safety

The handle is made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer)—a material with high elasticity and strength. It is non-toxic and resistant to weathering, temperature changes, and material fatigue.

The soft surface provides a good grip even in wet conditions.

Manufacturing in Solingen

The knife is manufactured entirely in Solingen—using proven technology and in collaboration with trusted local partners. The manufacturing process remains unchanged to preserve the functionality and reliability for which the original Super Edge is known.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of steel is used in the Linder Super Edge 2?

The blade is made of Japanese ATS34 stainless steel. It is heat-treated under vacuum and further cryogenically treated. Its hardness is 60–61 HRC on the Rockwell scale. ATS34 steel has an identical composition to American 154CM steel and outperforms conventional stainless steels such as 440C in terms of corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and hardness.

What is TPE, and why is it used for the handle?

TPE stands for thermoplastic elastomer. It is a material with high elasticity and mechanical strength that is non-toxic and safe. It is resistant to weathering, temperature changes, and material fatigue. It provides a soft and secure grip even in wet conditions. It is recyclable and does not require vulcanization during production.

Where is the Linder Super Edge 2 knife manufactured?

The knife is manufactured entirely in Solingen, Germany. The manufacturing process remains unchanged, with much of the work carried out by established local partners. Solingen is a traditional center for cutlery production with a long history and a global reputation.

What are the knife's dimensions and weight?

The blade is 120 mm long and 4.7 mm thick. The total length of the knife is 236 mm. The knife weighs 148 grams. The genuine leather sheath adds an additional 83 grams. These dimensions make it compact and easy to carry.

What is the Super Edge 2's casing made of?

The sheath is made of genuine leather. It weighs 83 grams. Genuine leather is a durable and practical material, suitable for everyday outdoor use. The knife comes complete with a sheath.

What's new in Super Edge 2 compared to the previous model?

In the new version, the back of the blade is sharper. It has been optimized for use with a flint and for starting fires. The manufacturing process and materials remain the same—the change is functional and purposeful. The labeling has been made more discreet and limited to what is necessary.

Is it easy to sharpen an ATS34 steel blade?

Yes, despite its high hardness of 60–61 HRC, ATS34 steel sharpens relatively easily. It retains its sharpness for an exceptionally long time even under intensive use. The cryogenic treatment during production further improves the steel’s structure and contributes to a more stable cutting edge.
