Description

EDC torch ZebraLight SC600w IV Plus HI – neutral light with high colour rendering

ZebraLight torches are among the best in the world – not for show, but for genuine performance. The SC600w IV Plus HI model is a compact torch with a 4500K neutral light and a CRI of 90+, designed for people who know exactly what they’re looking for.

This is a torch that makes no compromises on power, efficiency or reliability. The body is made from a single piece of aluminium (unibody) with Type III Hard Anodising – around 2 to 3 times more wear-resistant than standard torches.

Why ZebraLight is different

  • Extreme efficiency – maximum energy output with virtually zero losses thanks to buck-boost drivers
  • High CRI light – high colour rendering index for accurate colour reproduction
  • Constant-current driver – stable light output without dips or flickering
  • Compact design – real power in a pocket-sized package
  • Unibody design – a single-piece aluminium body
  • Type III Hard Anodising – significantly higher wear resistance
  • Potting compound – the electronics are encapsulated in thermally conductive silicone for strength, cooling and water resistance
  • Corning Gorilla Glass – highly durable protective glass

What it’s suitable for

  • Professional use – security, inspections, technical work
  • Hiking and camping – a good balance between power and battery life
  • Hunting and fishing – long range and neutral, realistic light
  • EDC (everyday carry) – a compact yet robust tool
  • Emergencies – reliability and long battery life on low settings
  • Search and navigation – consistent brightness

  • Double-click: Toggle between the two sub-levels of the current level – the selection is retained even when the battery is replaced

Programming the second sub-level (H2 / M2 / L2)

  • 6 consecutive double-clicks at the selected level
  • Each subsequent double-click switches to a different brightness level
  • 1 click – switch off and save

Battery indicator

  • 4 rapid clicks from the off state
  • The main LED flashes 1 to 4 times, indicating the remaining charge

PID thermal setting (for the three highest levels)

  1. Switch off at H1, then switch back on at H1
  2. Hold the button and cycle 6 times from Low to High
  3. On the 7th or subsequent cycle, release the button:
    • On High: +1°C (up to a maximum of +5°C)
    • On Medium: return to factory setting
    • On Low: -1°C (up to -5°C maximum)

Mode groups

The torch has 3 mode groups: G5 (factory setting), G6 and G7.

  • 5 clicks from OFF: G5
  • 6 clicks from OFF: G6
  • 7 clicks from OFF: G7

The selection is retained when the torch is switched off and the battery is replaced.

G5 (factory setting)

  • H1: 1700 lm
  • H2: 965 / 521 / 280 lm
  • M1: 128 lm
  • M2: 56 / 25 / 11 lm
  • L1: 3.4 lm
  • L2: 0.8 / 0.3 / 0.1 lm

G6 and G7

  • All levels can be programmed to any of the 12 available brightness levels
  • 6 double-clicks: enter programming mode
  • Double-click: +1 level
  • Triple-click: -1 level
  • 1 click: exit

Reset

  • 3 consecutive series of 5 / 6 / 7 clicks – resets the relevant group to factory settings

Classification of the ZebraLight series

  • SC series – handheld torches (EDC, general-purpose)
  • H series – headlamps (work, hiking)
  • HI – longer range, more focused beam
  • F / Flood – wide illumination
  • c/w (CRI) – better colour rendering, neutral light

WARNING: This torch works only with unprotected flat-top 18650 batteries. Using other types of batteries may damage the contacts and void the warranty.

Frequently asked questions

What type of battery does the ZebraLight SC600w IV Plus HI use?

The torch works exclusively with unprotected flat-top 18650 Li-ion batteries. Using protected batteries or batteries with a protruding positive contact (button-top) may damage the internal contacts and void the warranty. The battery is not included in the pack. The operating voltage is between 2.7 V and 6.0 V.

What does CRI 90+ mean and why is it important?

CRI (Colour Rendering Index) indicates how accurately the light renders the true colours of illuminated objects. A value of 90+ signifies very high colour accuracy. This is particularly important for technical work – for example, when distinguishing the colours of electrical cables. When hunting or fishing, the neutral 4500K light with a high CRI provides a more realistic view of the terrain.

How many brightness levels does the SC600w IV Plus HI have?

The torch has 3 main levels – High, Medium and Low. Each of these has 2 sub-levels (H1/H2, M1/M2, L1/L2). The second sub-level of each main level can be further programmed to different brightness values from a choice of 12 available levels. The maximum luminous flux is 1,700 lm at H1, whilst the minimum is 0.1 lm at L2, with a runtime of up to 4.4 months.

What is PID thermal regulation and how does it work?

PID thermal regulation is a system that monitors the torch’s temperature and automatically adjusts the brightness at the three highest levels to prevent overheating. The user can adjust the temperature threshold themselves – increasing it by +1°C (up to a maximum of +5°C) or decreasing it by -1°C (down to a minimum of -5°C) from the factory setting. To reset to the factory setting, stop the cycle at the Medium level.

What is the water resistance rating of the ZebraLight SC600w IV Plus HI?

The torch has an IPX8 waterproof rating, which means it is protected against submersion to a depth of 2 metres for 30 minutes. The electronics are additionally encapsulated in thermally conductive silicone (potting compound), which provides extra strength, better cooling and greater resistance to impact.

How do you check the battery charge?

From the off state, press the button 4 times quickly. The main LED flashes between 1 and 4 times, with the number of flashes indicating the remaining battery charge. In addition, the torch features built-in protection with continuous monitoring of temperature, current and voltage; it automatically switches to a lower mode as the charge level decreases, and switches off automatically at 2.7 V.

What are the G5, G6 and G7 mode groups, and how are they selected?

The torch has three mode groups. G5 is the factory-set group with pre-set brightness levels. G6 and G7 allow full customisation of all levels to any of the 12 available brightness levels. The mode group is selected by the number of clicks from the off state: 5 clicks for G5, 6 clicks for G6 and 7 clicks for G7. The selection is retained even when the battery is replaced. To reset to factory settings, perform 3 consecutive series of the corresponding number of clicks.
