Description

SRM 261M-GB Folding EDC Knife – Practicality and Durability for Everyday Use

The SRM 261M-GB is a compact and reliable EDC knife designed for everyday use. The blade is made of 154CM steel, and the handle is made of durable G10 polymer. The knife is equipped with a deep clip for comfortable carrying.

154CM Steel – Why It's the Preferred Choice

154CM steel is a high-quality stainless steel alloy widely used in the knife industry. It is also known as CM154 and has an identical composition to the Japanese ATS-34.

Higher corrosion resistance compared to 440C
Greater wear resistance
Higher hardness – HRC 59–61

These qualities make it an excellent choice for knives intended for heavy-duty use.

G10 handle—durability and a secure grip

G10 is a composite of fiberglass and resin—extremely strong and wear-resistant. The textured finish prevents the knife from slipping in your hand, even in wet conditions. G10 ranks among the most durable materials used in knife manufacturing.

Cryogenic Treatment and Sharpening with Cooling

All SRM blades undergo a special cryogenic treatment that improves edge retention and corrosion resistance. The cryogenic sharpening process preserves the blade’s hardness and ensures a long-lasting cutting edge.

Ambi Lock System – Locking for Both Hands

The knife uses the Ambi Lock locking system—an advanced version of the familiar axis lock. It operates just as comfortably with either the right or left hand. The precision craftsmanship ensures smooth and reliable operation of the mechanism.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of steel does the SRM 261M-GB use?

The SRM 261M-GB knife is made of 154CM steel, also known as CM154. It has an identical chemical composition to the Japanese ATS-34. Compared to conventional stainless steels such as 440C, 154CM offers higher corrosion resistance, greater wear resistance, and higher hardness. Its hardness on the HRC scale ranges from 59 to 61, making it suitable for knives subjected to frequent and intensive use.

What is the Ambi Lock locking system?

Ambi Lock is a locking system that is a modification of the familiar axis-lock mechanism. It allows for two-handed operation—equally comfortable for right- and left-handed users. SRM has been manufacturing similar systems for many years and sets a high standard for precision in their production. The mechanism ensures smooth and reliable locking of the blade during use.

What material is used for the handle of the SRM 261M-GB?

The handle is made of G10—a composite material consisting of fiberglass and resin. It is strong, wear-resistant, and ranks among the most durable materials used in knife manufacturing. The textured finish on the handle prevents it from slipping in your hand. The material is very flexible and durable under various conditions of use.

What are the knife's dimensions and weight?

The SRM 261M-GB knife has a total length of 180 mm. The blade is 73 mm long and 3.1 mm thick. The knife weighs 75 grams, making it lightweight and comfortable for everyday carry. The model is equipped with a deep clip for attaching it to a pocket or belt.

What is cryogenic treatment, and why is it important?

Cryogenic treatment is a specialized manufacturing process applied to all SRM blades. It is combined with a gentle heat treatment to improve edge retention. The result is a harder, more durable, and more corrosion-resistant blade. Additionally, the cryogenic sharpening process preserves the blade’s hardness and performance characteristics, ensuring a long-lasting cutting edge.

Is the SRM 261M-GB suitable for everyday use?

Yes, the SRM 261M-GB is designed as an EDC knife—a tool for everyday carry and use. Its compact size, light weight of 75 grams, and deep clip make it comfortable for everyday use.
