Description

Folding knife with a blade made from D2 tool steel

The Dulotec K300 is a robust folding knife designed for heavy-duty use. The handle is made from G10 with a carbon finish – large enough to ensure a secure and firm grip.

The blade has a clip-point shape and is made from D2 tool steel, hardened to 59–60 HRC. The bevel is flat and further tapered before the cutting edge for easier cutting.

Key features of the Dulotec K300

  • D2 tool steel blade – excellent wear resistance
  • Hardness of 59–60 HRC for long-lasting and reliable cutting
  • G10 handle with carbon finish – strong, lightweight and durable
  • Liner Lock mechanism – one-handed closing
  • Built-in high-quality steel bearings for smooth and easy opening
  • Stainless steel liners with cut-out holes for additional weight reduction
  • Clip for convenient carrying

D2 tool steel

D2 steel is characterised by excellent wear resistance, due to the combination of chromium, carbon, vanadium and manganese in its composition. D2 blades are among the best for abrasive cutting compared to other types of steel. They are hardened to 60–61 HRC.

G10 material for the handle

G10 is a popular material for knife handles, made from fibreglass and epoxy resins. Its layered structure is cured under high pressure, making it strong, durable and colour-fast.

Bearings

The built-in bearings are made from high-quality hard steel. They ensure smooth, effortless opening with perfect blade alignment.

Liner Lock mechanism

The Liner Lock is one of the most common locking mechanisms used in folding knives. The side spring on the inside of the handle is automatically engaged when the knife is fully opened, locking the blade in place. To release, press sideways with your thumb. It allows for one-handed closing without changing your grip.

Frequently asked questions

What type of steel is the blade of the Dulotec K300 made from?

The blade of the Dulotec K300 is made from D2 tool steel, hardened to 59–60 HRC. D2 is renowned for its excellent wear resistance, due to the combination of chromium, carbon, vanadium and manganese. This makes it suitable for abrasive cutting and ensures a long-lasting cutting edge even with intensive use.

What is the G10 material used for the handle?

G10 is a widely used material for knife handles. It is made from fibreglass and epoxy resins by high-pressure moulding. The result is a strong, lightweight and durable material with a layered structure that retains its colour and shape even under heavy use. The K300’s handle has an additional carbon finish.

How does the Liner Lock mechanism work on the Dulotec K300?

The Liner Lock is one of the most common locking mechanisms used in folding knives. When the blade is fully extended, a built-in side spring automatically slides behind it and locks it in place. To release it, you need to press the spring to the side with your thumb. The mechanism allows for one-handed closing without changing your grip – handy when working with your other hand occupied.

What are the knife’s dimensions and weight?

The Dulotec K300 has a blade length of 90 mm and a thickness of 2.8 mm. The total length of the knife is 208 mm. It weighs 168 g, making it a substantial and well-balanced tool, suitable for heavier tasks.

What is the blade profile and how does it affect cutting performance?

The blade has a clip-point shape – a classic and versatile profile. The bevel is flat and tapers further towards the cutting edge. This reduces cutting resistance and makes the knife more effective for both everyday and heavier use.

Does it have a carrying clip, and what are the liners made of?

Yes, the Dulotec K300 is fitted with a clip for more comfortable carrying. The liners are made of stainless steel and feature cut-out holes that reduce the knife’s overall weight without compromising the strength of the construction.

What is Dulotec’s philosophy regarding knife production?

Dulotec focuses on the optimal balance between price and quality. For knives, this means using tried-and-tested steels that are easy to source and work with, offering a long-lasting cutting edge and easy maintenance. Particular attention is paid to the heat treatment of the blade and precise assembly. All unnecessary costs along the supply chain, from raw material to the consumer, are eliminated to maintain an affordable price without compromising the product’s key characteristics.
