Is there anything more annoying than flies?

If there's anything more annoying than flies, it's wasps. We're often asked, "Does the Bug-a-Salt gun work on wasps?"

The answer is—it depends. A wasp is much tougher than a fly, and a gun can’t kill it, especially with a horizontal, long-range shot. And since there are plenty of them on the beach, we were able to conduct practical experiments on shooting them.

In addition to providing plenty of fun for the whole group, we refined our technique and dramatically improved our efficiency and peace of mind during outdoor breakfasts or lunches.

So, we’ve found a way to neutralize them with nearly 100% success. It’s important to shoot from above—aiming at the wings and from no more than 50 cm away—so the wasp can’t fly away, and you can then remove it with a follow-up shot or with your shoe.

If there are a lot of wasps, a good strategy is to move a used plate or a piece of meat a meter to the side so they’ll go there, and then you can shoot them safely and comfortably. If you’re shooting at the table—make sure no one is sitting across from you—because the salt crystals ricochet and can be quite painful.
