A battery with or without protection?

Batteries with built-in protection contain a small circuit board in the anode or cathode that protects against overcharging, over-discharging, and excessive current. When critical thresholds are reached, the protection circuit shuts down to safeguard the cell.

These protected batteries have a protruding positive terminal and are suitable for flashlights with mechanical reverse-polarity protection—a feature common to brands such as Acebeam, Olight, Fenix, Nitecore, and Armytec. They are slightly longer and wider than standard batteries.

It is important to know that batteries with protection circuits are not suitable for Zebralight and Dulotec flashlights, as these are designed for batteries without protection circuits. Before purchasing, check the dimensions of the original battery in millimeters and compare them with the technical specifications of the new one.
