Fisher Space Pen Bullet Cerakote Armor Black – a pen for all conditions
The Fisher Space Pen Series 400 is the brand's first and most popular model. The Bullet Cerakote Armor Black 400H-190 pen is coated with CERAKOTE®—a thin-film ceramic coating with exceptional resistance to wear, corrosion, and chemicals.
The same coating is used in the automotive and aerospace industries, as well as on knives and weapons. A matte black clip complements the sleek and durable design.
Design and Materials
The body is made of brass and steel. The magazine mouthpiece is made of tungsten carbide—a material known for its high hardness and durability.
- Length when unfolded: 13.6 cm
- Length when folded: 9.6 cm
- Refill: SPR4 – black ink, medium tip
- Compatible with all Fisher PR refills
- Includes a plastic gift box
Ink Technology
The ink is thixotropic—it is solid at rest but liquefies when writing. The cartridge contains a pressurized nitrogen gas cartridge that pushes the hermetically sealed ink.
- It writes at any angle, including upside down
- It works underwater and in zero gravity
- Withstands temperatures ranging from -34°C to +120°C
- It does not break or leak
- It lasts up to three times longer than regular ink
Practicality and Use
Its compact size makes it easy to carry in a wallet or organizer. The clip allows you to attach it to a pocket or backpack.
It doesn't melt in the hot summer or freeze in the cold winter—you can count on it in all conditions.

History of the Fisher Space Pen
During the early NASA missions, astronauts used pencils. For the Gemini program, NASA purchased mechanical pencils in 1965 at a cost of $128.89 each—an expense that sparked public outrage.
In response, Paul S. Fisher of Fisher Pen Co. developed an entirely new ballpoint pen suitable for the space environment—without funding from NASA, using a personal investment of about 1 million U.S. dollars.
In 1967, after rigorous testing, NASA equipped the Apollo astronauts with these pens. About 400 of them were purchased at a price of $6 each.
In February 1969, the Soviet Union also purchased 100 Fisher pens and 1,000 refills for the Soyuz spaceflights. To this day, astronauts and cosmonauts continue to use Fisher pens.
