Description

SRM 255I-GP Folding Knife – A Reliable EDC Knife for Everyday Use

The SRM 255I-GP is a convenient and practical EDC knife designed for everyday use. The blade features a drop-point shape and a PVD coating with a satin finish. It is made of 10Cr15MoV stainless steel, which retains its sharpness for a long time and resists corrosion.

Locking Mechanism and Design

The knife uses the Ambi-Lock system—an advanced version of the well-known Axis-Lock mechanism. The Mono-Chassis Liner construction ensures greater strength and smooth, reliable operation of the mechanism. The blade opens smoothly thanks to built-in hard steel and phosphor bronze bearings that keep it perfectly centered.

Handle and Carrying

The handle is made of G10—a composite of fiberglass and resin. The material has a ribbed texture, which prevents slipping and ensures a secure grip. The Ambi-Clip is a two-position belt clip that can be adjusted without tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Ambi-Lock feature on the SRM 255I-GP?

Ambi-Lock is an advanced version of the well-known Axis-Lock mechanism. It allows the blade to be securely locked in the open position. The Mono-Chassis Liner construction further reinforces the mechanism and ensures smooth, long-lasting operation. The lock can be activated from either side of the knife.

What is the handle of the SRM 255I-GP made of?

The handle is made of G10—a composite material consisting of fiberglass and resin. It is strong, lightweight, and wear-resistant. The textured finish on the handle prevents slipping even with wet hands. G10 ranks among the most durable materials for knife handles.

What kind of steel is used for the blade, and what are its properties?

The blade is made of 10Cr15MoV—a Chinese stainless steel with properties similar to VG-10. It contains vanadium, chromium, and molybdenum, making it resistant to corrosion and wear. Its hardness ranges between 58 and 60 HRC. The steel holds its edge well and is relatively easy to sharpen.

What is Ambi-Clip, and how is it used?

Ambi-Clip is a two-position belt clip integrated into the design of the SRM 255I-GP. It allows you to easily change the carrying position without the need for tools. This is especially convenient during active movement or when switching between left- and right-side pockets.

What types of bearings are used in the SRM 255I-GP, and what is their function?

The knife features built-in bearings made of hardened steel and phosphor bronze. These ensure smooth and easy opening of the blade with minimal effort. Thanks to them, the blade remains properly centered and does not touch the sides of the handle when opening and closing.

What is the PVD coating on the blade, and what is its function?

PVD is a type of physical vapor deposition used as a protective coating on the blade. It further enhances corrosion and wear resistance. The blade of the SRM 255I-GP has a satin finish, which gives it an attractive appearance and reduces glare.
