EDC flashlight ZebraLight SC700d HI – uncompromising power and efficiency
ZebraLight are among the most reliable flashlights in the world. Not because of the effect they create, but because of their actual performance. The model SC700d HI is a compact handheld flashlight made from EDC class, designed for people who know what they want from their equipment.
The LED Cree XHP70.3 HI ensures neutral white light at 5000K and color reproduction CRI 90+. The shade variation is within 3 degrees.
Why is ZebraLight different from a standard flashlight?
- Unibody casing – made from a single piece of high-quality aluminium using precision CNC machining
- Type III Hard Anodizing (Class I) – the coating is around 2–3 times more wear-resistant than that of a standard flashlight
- Potting compound – the electronics are encased in thermally conductive silicone to ensure durability, cooling and water resistance
- Constant driver – a steady light without fluctuations or flickering
- Buck-boost driver – maximum efficiency with minimal battery drain
- Direct Thermal Sink – direct heat dissipation from the LED to the aluminium housing
- Corning Gorilla Glass and a reflector with an orange-peel texture
- Beryllium copper springs in all pogo pins for exceptionally low electrical resistance
- IPX8 water resistance – up to 2 metres in 30 minutes
- Reverse polarity protection and built-in battery protection features
- Pocket clip
What is the SC700d HI used for?
- Professional use – security, inspections, technical work on electrical installations
- Tourism and camping – a balance between power and range
- Hunting and fishing – good color gamut and realistic color reproduction
- EDC (everyday carry) – a compact and robust tool
- Emergencies – long battery life in low-power modes
- Search and orientation – consistent brightness

Operating the SC700d HI
The lantern features 3 main levels – High, Medium and Low, and beacon-strobe mode. Each main level can be programmed to one of its two sub-levels. The second sub-level of each main level can be further adjusted to different brightness levels.
Head Office
- 1 short click – switches to ‘High’ or switches off
- 2 quick clicks – publish on Medium
- 3 quick clicks – activates beacon-strobe mode
- Hold (for more than 0.6 seconds) – switches to ‘Low’, then cycles through ‘Medium’ and ‘High’; release to set the desired level
Advanced management and configuration
- Holding down the button cycles through Low, Medium and High; release it at the desired level
- Double-clicking switches between the two sub-levels of the current main level; the selection is saved
- 6 double-clicks at a given main level launch the configuration of the second sublevel (H2, M2, L2); subsequent double-clicks cycle through different brightness levels; 1 single click saves and exits
- Four quick clicks whilst the device is switched off activate the battery charge indicator (the LED flashes 1–4 times)
- The Beacon-strobe is activated with 3 clicks from the off position; a double-click switches between the options; the settings are saved
PID thermal programming (for the three highest levels)
- Switch off at H1 and switch on again at H1
- Hold down the button and complete 6 cycles from Low to High
- On the 7th (or subsequent) cycle, set the button to the desired level:
- High – adds 1°C (up to a maximum of +5°C)
- Medium – restores factory settings
- Low – decreases by 1°C (to a maximum of -5°C)
Group modes
The flashlight has three mode groups – G5, G6 and G7. G5 is the factory default and is selected by clicking 5 times from the OFF position. G6 and G7 are selected by clicking 6 and 7 times respectively from the OFF position. The selection is retained after the flashlight is switched off and when the battery is replaced.
- In all three groups, H may be H1 or H2, M may be M1 or M2, and L may be L1 or L2
- From OFF: 1 click → H / 2 clicks → M / hold → cycle L → M → H
In G5
- H1 is set at 2,600 lm; H2 can be 1,360, 900 or 550 lm
- M1 is set at 180 lm; M2 can be 48, 24 or 11 lm
- L1 is fixed at 2.0 lm; L2 can be 0.24, 0.08 or 0.03 lm
In G6 and G7
H1, H2, M1, M2, L1 and L2 can be programmed to any of the 12 available brightness levels. Six double-clicks on the selected sub-level enter programming mode. Double-click – one level up; triple-click – one level down; single click – exit. Three consecutive series of 5 clicks (or 6, or 7) reset G5 (or G6, G7) to the factory settings respectively.
WARNING: The flashlight is designed to work only with unprotected flat-top 21700 batteries. Using other types of batteries may damage the flashlight and invalidate the warranty.
