Battery with protection—what does that mean?
Protected batteries contain a small electronic circuit board located in the anode or cathode. It protects the cell from overcharging, over-discharging, and excessive current—if necessary, the protection mechanism automatically cuts off the power supply.
Batteries with protection circuits and a raised positive terminal are suitable for flashlights with mechanical reverse-polarity protection—such as those used by brands like Acebeam, Olight, Fenix, Nitecore, and Armytec. They are not suitable for flashlights designed for unprotected batteries, such as Zebralight.
Protected batteries are slightly longer and wider than standard ones. Before purchasing, it is recommended that you measure the dimensions of the original battery in millimeters and compare them with the technical specifications of the battery being offered.
