Invisible Flipper – One-Handed Opening
The Invisible Flipper system ensures smooth and quick opening while maintaining the knife's aerodynamic profile. The mechanism is concealed, which preserves the clean and compact design.
Ceramic ball bearings for precision motion
The axle system with ceramic ball bearings reduces friction and ensures stable, predictable opening. The design is more advanced than traditional washer systems.
Double clip for carrying
The Ambi Clip can be attached and removed from either side of the grip without tools. The interchangeable clip is installed with tools and can be configured for your preferred hand.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of steel is the blade of the SRM 7229-GB Scout made of?
The blade is made of Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel with a hardness of 57–59 HRC. This steel provides a good balance between sharpness, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening. It is sourced from the Swedish manufacturer Sandvik, known for its high-quality cutlery steels.
What is the Invisible Flipper system in SRM Scout?
The Invisible Flipper is a one-handed blade-opening mechanism. It is concealed within the knife’s profile, so it does not compromise the compact design. The motion is smooth and fast, thanks to the ceramic ball bearings in the pivot system. It is suitable for everyday use where quick access to the blade is important.
Is the SRM 7229-GB Scout suitable for left-handed riders?
Yes, the knife is designed with ambidextrous control. The Ambi-Lock locking mechanism works on both sides of the handle. The Ambi Clip can be attached and removed without tools from either side, and the interchangeable clip can be configured for either left- or right-handed use. This makes the knife comfortable for both right- and left-handed users.
What is the difference between the Ambi Clip and the removable clip on the SRM Scout?
The Ambi Clip can be attached to and removed from the handle without any tools—quickly and easily. The replaceable clip requires tools for installation but offers a more secure fit. Both options can be configured to be worn on the right or left side. The choice depends on the user’s preference for how to wear it.
What is the advantage of ceramic ball bearings over sleeve bearings?
Ceramic ball bearings reduce friction in the knife’s axial system. The result is smoother, faster, and more stable blade deployment. Compared to traditional washer-based designs, these bearings provide more precise and predictable movement. This is especially important during intensive daily use.
What are the dimensions and weight of the SRM 7229-GB Scout?
The blade is 69 mm long and 2.6 mm thick. The total length of the knife is 169 mm, and it weighs 70 grams. These dimensions make it compact and easy to carry in your pocket every day, without being too small for practical use.
What is the safety pause when closing the SRM Scout, and why is it important?
With many folding knives, the blade drops freely as soon as the lock is released. The SRM Scout is designed with a safety delay that slows this movement. This allows the user to close the knife in a more controlled and safe manner. This feature is particularly useful during quick or unplanned movements in real-world situations.
